Creating Bubbles in My Memories Suite

pagemaps-p001 I loved building this page using some of the new Designer Packs from Ettes & Company (Feelin’ Happy and Blue Skies). But after I finished I felt the layout needed just a little something to help spotlight the fact that Emma is blowing bubbles. So I created some fun bubbles using the SHAPES tool. Below are quick instructions on how to do this.

Directions: Select the “Shapes” tab in your Control Panel and then click on “Add Shape”. Of course to create a bubble you want to start with a circle, which I decided to make white. However, I didn’t like the stark white bubble, so I reduced the OPACITY to about 45%, which I loved. I then copied and pasted additional circles, varing the size of the bubbles.

Last I duplicated a couple of the bubbles and placed the behind the white bubble, but changed the color to a blue to give it a bit of a drop shadow.

Create a Unique Address Book

Of course I love using My Memories Suite to create photobooks and layouts, but I also like to think outside the box and come up with a variety of gift and home decor ideas. This adorable address book is something I’ve been cooking up since about Christmas time when I’m always combing the net to find inexpensive, creative ideas for gifts. I’d picked up a bunch of 4×6″ plastic photo albums from my local Walmart and started to think.

Then it hit me, I’m always looking up phone numbers for friends, family and our favorite places. I never use a phone book any more and typically turn to the internet or my computer’s address book to find this information. And the other thing I’m always bugging people about are BIRTHDAYS. So I set out to start creating a colorful Address Book using my software.

Of course for the sake of this example, I used generic information on the samples…but as soon as I output these samples I went in and changed the information to actual info about my friends and family. (I’m thinking I’ll be making more of these for Christmas Gifts this year!)

Below are the pages I created, click on them to see them closer.

Directions: Simply start an album from scratch and select the LANDSCAPE option to start building your pages. Turn on your GUIDES to 4×6 so you don’t have any information cut off when you’re finished. I printed these at home and the office and had to tweak the size a bit to get them to fit, so test one page before printing the entire book. You can also output them and send them to your favorite photo place to have printed on 4×6″ photographs.
